THE Philippines coasted to a 124-37 win over Laos on Tuesday for its second win in a row in the 11th Southeast Asian Basketball Association (Seaba) Championship in Singapore.

Troy Rosario had 19 points, Bobby Ray Parks had 12 of his 18 points in the first half, and the Gilas cadets had an easy time dispatching the Laotians, who lost to Singapore by 92 points, 113-21, on Monday.

The Philippine team jumped to a 37-5 lead at the end of the first period and never looked back.

Kevin Ferrer and Russel Escoto each had 16 points, most of them coming in the first half, while Jiovani Jalalon had 12 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and six steals for the Nationals, who didn’t even field naturalized player Marcus Douthit in the game.

The Nationals will next face Malaysia on Wednesday in a bid to move a step closer to one of the three berths at stake in the Fiba-Asia Championship this year.
