A NEW app for ballers who want to improve their game has been launched by Nike in the Philippines.

Dubbed as Hyper Court, the app gives ballers access to videos of different drills that a players can do with the help of their smart phones in order to reach their maximum potential.

The app, powered by Google and accessible even without data, leads users through a series of drills that can improve shooting, dribbling, passing, ball handling, and defending.

Nike Southeast Asia and India senior marketing director Bulbul Khera said the company recognizes the changing times, particularly in technology in the Philippines.

"The passion for basketball in Manila is unlike any other city in Asia. We want to inspire young ballers to realize their full potential through the physical and digital aspect of the sport," said Khera during the apps' launch on Friday.

"Nike Hyper Court enables these ballers to train anytime without worrying about access to training drills and training costs," said Khera.

Xavi Nunag, an assistant coach for Meralco in the PBA, designed the drills in the app.

"Iba na 'yung kabataan ngayon. Kailangan mo siya ipasok eh. As a coach, you have to make sure that your message is sent. It's a challenge for the coaches lalo na ngayon na iba na 'yung viewing habits and attention span nila. The app itself will give the kids a better tool," said Nunag.

Meanwhile, five Hyper Courts featuring comics-inspired artwork made by internationally renowned artist Arturo Torres were also launched. The courts bear images of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving.

The artworks can be found at the Titan Love Court in Taguig, Ususan Court in Taguig, Comembo Covered Court in Makati, Scarlet Homes Covered Court in Paranaque, and YCL Covered Court in Quezon City.
