Adamson Baby Falcons take on Staglets to begin HBDL Freego Kids Cup title defense

ADAMSON-B and San Sebastian renew their rivalry when they clash in the opening of the 3rd Headstart Developmental Basketball League (HDBL) Freego Kids Cup on Saturday at the SGS Stadium on Araneta Avenue, Quezon City.

The Baby Falcons drew big games from brothers Andrey and Adam Doria to beat the Staglets, 95-72, in last year’s 15-years-and-under final.

League organizer Edster Sy and tournament director Willy Chan have once again designated Reynaldo de Vera as tournament commissioner in the event that aims to provide aspiring young athletes a league where they can excel and develop their basketball skills. 

Expected to grace the opening ceremony to be hosted by Apple David are Freego Ambassadors Jeff Chan of Rain or Shine , Rodney Brondial, Jeric Cañada and Alex Nuyles.

Aside from Adamson-B and SSC, other teams entered in the 15-U division of the event also sponsored by AXA Philippines, World Balance, Duralite are inaugural champion Chiang Kai Shek College, Maestro Basketball Club, and Notre Dame of Greater Manila.

Nine teams are competing in the 12-U division with the Philippine Elite of coach Mark Herrera out to defend the crown it won over the Pinoy Youth Dreamers last year.

Other teams in the 12-U are Chiang Kai Shek College, Headstart Academy, Maestro Basketball Club, Pace Academy, St. Jude Catholic School, San Sebastian, St. Augustine and Black Mamba Boys.
