Philippine youth team vies for honors against college squads in Fr. Martin Summer Cup

THE Philippine youth team will see action against college squads in the 21st Fr. Martin Summer Cup basketball tournament starting on Saturday at the San Beda gym.

The Nationals will slug it out against college teams including UAAP champion National University, NCAA titlist San Beda and last year’s Martin Cup winner Perpetual Help.

The youth team coached by Mike Oliver is in Group A with NU, Arellano, Letran, Jose Rizal University, UST-B, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Olivarez College and Lyceum.

Perpetual Help and San Beda are in Group B with Mapua, University of the East, UST-A, Ateneo, Manuel L. Quezon University and Far Eastern University.

UE takes on MLQU in the at 9:30 a.m. first college game.

UE and Emilio Aguinaldo College clash at 8 o’clock in the opening match of the juniors division.

UE and EAC are in Juniors Group B with San Beda-A, La Salle-Zobel, UST, Perpetual Help and  Xavier.

In Juniors Group A are reigning champion Adamson, San Beda-B, Lyceum, NU, Arellano, San Sebastian, Manila Patriotic Academy and San Beda-Alabang.
