BAYUGAN City, Agusan del Sur — UAAP champion Far Eastern University finished strong to beat University of San Jose-Recoletos, 68-53, on Sunday in the Mayor Kim Lope A. Asis 1st Collegiate Invitational Basketball Tournament at the Lope Asis Memorial Gymnasium.

The Tamaraws fell behind, 30-38, in the third but used a 12-0 blast to take a 42-38 lead and never looked back.

Allen de los Santos led FEU with 12 points while Prince Orizu added nine.

The Tamaraws led early, 5-0, but the Jaguars fought back and took a 33-29 lead at halftime.

USJ-R stretched its lead to eight with a third-quarter run highlighted by a two-handed dunk by Miguel Gastador before FEU regained control.

RJ Dinolan led the Jaguars with 17 points.
