Manila NU Bulldogs force decider against Pampanga Foton in FBA finals

MATT Salem had 29 points, Issa Gaye added 26 markers, and Manila National University-MFT beat Pampanga-Foton, 111-109, in double overtime in Game Two of the Filsports Basketball Association Second Conference finals on Sunday night at the Colegio De San Sebastian gym in San Fernando, Pampanga.

The Bulldogs forced a decider in the best-of-three title showdown on Tuesday, 5 p.m. at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center.

Foton’s Levi Hernandez was named Most Valuable Player and scored 35 in Game Two but that wasn't enough to lift the Toplanders to a sweep.

Game One was taken by Foton, 76-69.

Gaye, a Senegalese player who is taking residency at NU, was named to the Mythical First Team along with Cedric Labing-isa of Marikina Wangs, Ernest Reyes of Malolos Mighty Bulsu, and Marlon Gomez of Pampanga-Foton.

Jawhar Purdy of Pateros Austen Morris was named Best Player of the Conference.
