Diliman College Sea Lions out to settle a score against CDSL Griffins in UCBL basketball

DILIMAN College hopes to exact against first-round tormentor Colegio de San Lorenzo on Saturday even as Olivarez College tries to extend its winning streak in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL) Season 2 at the Olivarez College gym in Sucat, Parañaque City.

The Diliman Blue Dragons and the CdSL Griffins clash at 12 noon in a game expected to go down the wire as both teams have missions to accomplish.

The Dragons are not only seeking revenge but are also looking to secure the solo lead for the first time while the Griffins are out to gain a piece of the lead aside from reasserting their class over the boys of coach Rensy Bajar.

Diliman College is currently tied for the lead with defending champion Centro Escolar University at 7-1 while the Griffins are breathing down their necks at 6-1.

Out to lead the Blue Dragons are guard Rickson Gerero and Senegalese big man Adama Diakhite, who once again starred in the team’s 79-70 win over the Bulacan State University Gold Gears last Thursday.

Gerero exploded for a team-high 22 points while the 6-foot-9 Diakhite produced a rare triple-double performance with 18 points, 25 rebounds and 11 blocks.

Meantime, the Olivarez Sea Lions will go for their fourth straight win and 6th overall in nine games when they collide with the Technological Institute of the Philippines Engineers at 2 p.m.

Both teams are coming off impressive wins with the Sea Lions hacking out a 91-87 win over Lyceum Batangas while the TIP Engineers scoring a 72-55 win over the University of Batangas Brahmans.
