Diliman College holds off San Beda to rule Fr. Martin Cup division 2 tournament
Blue Dragons won their second title in three finals appearances in the Fr. Martin Cup.

DILIMAN College beat San Beda, 58-53, recently to win the 15th Fr. Martin Cup Division 2 basketball tournament at the San Beda Gym.

Adama Diakhite had 15 points, while Kristoffer Torrado added 11 points for the Blue Dragons in ruling the seniors basketball division of the tournament supported by Slick Tight Hair Pomade.

It is the Blue Dragons' second title in three finals appearances in the Fr. Martin Cup after clinching the Summer Cup tournament.

“We struggled in our last five games. But the players wanted this game and the title. They gave their best effort,” said Diliman College coach Rensy Bajar, whose team is supported by Gerry's Grill.

Diakhite scored a hook shot with 3:38 left in the fourth to give his team a 56-50 lead.

Eugene Toba had 18 points, while Joaqui Mariano had 14 point for the Red Lions.

Meanwhile, registration for the 13th Fr. Martin Collegiate Open on November 18 is still open, according to commissioner Robert Dela Rosa.
