Mike Nzeusseu stars as Zarks-Lyceum beats JRU Bombers in Aspirants Cup

ZARK'S Burger-Lyceum beat also-ran Jose Rizal University, 91-81, in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Jawbreakers scored their sixth victory in 10 games, boosting their playoff bid, while dealing the Heavy Bombers their eighth straight loss for a woeful 1-8 tally.

Cameroon's Mike Nzeusseu had 22 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, and 11 rebounds for the Jawbreakers, who saw its 12-point lead sliced to 74-70 after a 10-2 JRU blitz to open the frame.

CJ Perez added 16 markers for the Jawbreakers.

"I guess we just got our groove back," said Zark's Burger Lyceum coach Topex Robinson.

Jeckster Apinan paced JRU with 20 points.
