FEU turns back Ateneo to spoil CJ Perez's debut with Blue Eagles

FAR Eastern University spoiled the Blue Eagles debut of CJ Perez as the Tamaraws defeated Ateneo, 58-52, on Thursday in the 21st Fr. Martin Summer Cup basketball tournament at the Arellano gym in Manila.

Wendell Comboy scored 11 points as FEU gained the early lead in Group B of the tournament.

Perez scored 21 points in his first tournament game with Ateneo after moving from San Sebastian.

Perez moved to the Katipunan-based squad after two years with San Sebastian. He will take a one-year residency in Season 78 before being eligible in 2016 for his one-and-done campaign with the Blue Eagles.

Manuel L. Quezon University beat University of Perpetual Help-B, 57-49, in the other game to also join FEU in the team standings.

Chris Bitoon scored 19 for the MLQU Stallions.
