Chiang Kai Shek College, Hope Christian High School dispute FCAAF title

CHIANG Kai Shek College and Hope Christian High School beat separate rivals to arrange a title showdown in the Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) Division A boys basketball title.

The Blue Dragons marched to the finals after defeating St. Stephen High School, 68-39, while Hope Christian High School overcame Manila Patriotic School, 79-75.

Chiang Kai Shek College and Hope Christian High School collide in the one-game championship on Saturday at the CKSC Main Gym.

Rafael Toribio had eight of his 15 points in the first quarter as was named Freego Best Player as the Blue Dragons built a 23-10 lead and cruised to victory. Joshua Ramirez had 13 points and was named World Balance-Headstart All-Around Player.

Ryan Quiambao scored 11 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter to win the Best Player honors, while Marvel Jimenez added 13.

St. Stephen and Manila Patriotic face off in the battle-for-third at 1:15 p.m. where the final spot for FCAAF in the annual Philippine Secondary Schools Basketball Championship is at stake.

In the developmental division, Chiang Kai Shek College beat St. Jude College, 82-79, while St. Stephen High School won over Grace Christian High School, 48-45, to advance to the finals set on Sunday at 9:15 a.m. at the CKSC gym.

Philippine Sun Yat Sen High School defeated St. Peter Apostle School, 90-84, to clinch a finals berth in Division B, as Pace Academy advanced by beating St. Mary’s of Valenzuela, 67-46, in the semifinal rubber match.

St. Mary of Valenzuela earlier forced a do-or-die game after winning a 67-62 decision over twice-to-beat Pace.

Pace and Philippine Sun Yat Sen collide at 2:30 p.m. for the Division B title.
