Cebu teams have declined to join the tournament as the event coincided with graduation ceremonies.

Organizers of the tournament felt that this year is the right time to go national after having been in the scene since 2015.

“We thought the timing was right where we peaked here in NCR. We can still expand. We have a good selection of schools participating,” said Jay Adevoso, one of the officials of Breakdown Basketball along with Gil Salandanan and Edwin Corral, during a press conference.

Adevoso was also joined in the press conference by several coaches and team officials including John Sy of Xavier, Azlie Guro, Andrew Gasataya Villarete, and Christian Dior Canlapan.

Among the players to watch are former Batang Gilas cagers Miguel Tan and Ryan Samuel Yu of Xavier, NCAA player Daniel Zuniga of ICA, and Central Luzon Palarong Pambansa team member Aldrich Lagos.
