ROBERT Bolick and AC Soberano led NCAA champion San Beda to a 70-67 win over San Sebastian on Thursday in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) Elite Eight at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Bolick and Soberano each scored 14 points and conspired in the game-winning play as the Red Lions scored the final seven points of the game to take the victory.

Bolick handed the winning assist that led to a triple by AC Soberano as San Beda regained the lead, 69-67, with 37.2 seconds left.

The Stags, who made it to the PCCL Elite Eight by ruling the National Capital Region (NCR) eliminations, came up empty in the next possessions in the battle of NCAA teams.

“I’m happy that we won this game but credit to San Sebastian,” said San Beda coach Boyet Fernandez. “Coach Egay (Macaraya) really prepared them well. The three-point shots of San Sebastian were really good. I saw that in the NCR eliminations.

“I just told the boys to stop the three-point shot, I think we are capable of winning this game,” said Fernandez.

Javee Mocon scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Red Lions.

Alvin Capobres had 14 points, while Ryan Costelo added 12 points for the Stags, who were still leading by six, 56-50, after a buzzer-beating triple by Alvin Baetiong.
