Tey Teodoro stars as Batangas City beats Muntinlupa in Game One of MPBL finals

BATANGAS City defeated Muntinlupa, 70-64, on Thursday night to draw first blood in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Anta-Rajah Cup finals at the Batangas City Coliseum.

Teytey Teodoro lit up with 20 points to show the way for the Tanduay Athletics in the opener of the best-of-five championship series.

Game Two is on Saturday at the Batangas City Coliseum before the series shifts to Muntinlupa for the next two matches.

Val Acuna added 14 points for Batangas City.

With the game tied at 64, Teodoro hit a free throw before scoring on a jump shot with 25 seconds left in the fourth for a three-point lead.

Muntinlupa failed to convert on the next possession, and Teodoro split two free throws to make it a two-possession game with 14 seconds left.

Dave Moralde had 12 points for Muntinlupa-Angelis Resort, which led by four, 30-26, at the half.

Muntinlupa 64 - Moralde 12, Mangahas 11, Llagas 9, Jaime 9, Reverente 8, Ylagan 6, Apreku 4, Vergara 4, Buenaflor 1.
