CEU Scorpions beat Adamson Falcons to gain share of fourth spot in Fr Martin Cup Division II

ALLAN Malubay had 26 points to lead Centro Escolar University-B to an 84-78 win over Adamson on Sunday in the 14th Fr. Martin Division 2 Cup basketball tournament at the San Beda gym.

Malubay hit three triples in the fourth period to lift the Scorpions to their third win in six games in Group A, gaining a share of fourth with Arellano.

Tyrus Hill had 22 points, while Jerie Pingoy scored 16 for Falcons.

University of the Philippines, San Beda-B, and Adamson have earlier clinched quarterfinal berths.

In Group B, San Beda-A, Letran-A, CEU-A, and Far Eastern University have also secured quarterfinal slots.

In the juniors division, Hope Christian High School beat National University, 79-69.

NU suffered its first loss in seven games but already clinched a semifinal berth along with San Beda-Rixal in Group B.

In Group A, Rich Golden Montessori Center secured a semifinal slot with a 6-1 card with Letran and Chiang Kai Shek College seeking the last bus.
