NCBA Wildcats, San Lorenzo Griffins off to winningg start in UCLAA basketball

CJ CATURA scored 13 points to lead the National College of Business and Arts Wildcats to a 72-60 win over the Lyceum-Alabang Pirates on Sunday in the 8th Universities and Colleges of Luzon Athletic Association basketball tournament at the Marikina Sports Complex.

Eljon Lumpin and Daniel Lasco converted triples that led the Wildcats to a 28-21 lead at the half.

“We started slow. But our when our pressing game kicked in in the second period, we were able to move ahead,” said NCBA coach Edgardo Alejo.

Yves Nicolas scored 18 points as Colegio de San Lorenzo defeated Asian Institute of Maritime Studies, 95-73.

Nicolas and Manu Magat helped the Griffins take a 45-25 halftime lead.
