A MIX of professional and amateur standouts comprises the Philippine team to the 2016 Seaba Cup which will be held from May 22 to 26 in Bangkok Thailand.

Gilas Pilipinas assistant coach Nash Racela has been appointed as the head coach of the squad, which will have PBA rookie players Troy Rosario of Tropang TNT and Almond Vosotros of Blackwater in the tournament serving as a qualifier for the 2016 Fiba Asia Challenge.

Also part of the team are Gilas cadets Mac Belo, Kevin Ferrer, and Jio Jalalon, Mike Tolomia, Roger Pogoy, Von Pessumal, Russell Escoto, Raymar Jose, Ken Holmqvist, and Jonas Tibayan.

Racela said the inclusion of Rosario and Vosotros, who played for the national team in last year’s Southeast Asian Games in Singapore, is a big boost to the squad due to the unavailability of several players including Kiefer Ravena and Rayray Parks.

Ravena is currently in the United States for training while Parks has just arrived in Manila after his stint in the NBA D-League.

“We thank Talk ‘N Text and Blackwater for allowing them to play,” said Racela.

Parks is expected to join the Gilas senior side when it resumes its buildup for the Manila Olympic qualifier on Monday.
