ARELLANO drew big games from Zach Nicholls and Jiovani Jalalon as the Chiefs beat Emilio Aguinaldo College, 92-80, on Tuesday in the NCAA Season 91 seniors basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Nicholls had 18 points on 4-of-9 from three-point range while Jalalon had a triple double of 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 15 assists to spark the Chiefs, who improved to a 2-1 win-loss record.

Arellano coach Jerry Codinera said he was happy that the Chiefs hardly missed a beat after their match against College of Saint Benilde on Friday was postponed due to bad weather.

“Inip na inip na sila but I just told them that we need to stay focused for the game,” said Codinera.

Nicholls and Jalalon scored 12 of the Chiefs’ 23 points in the third quarter when the Chiefs put the game out of reach, building a 74-59 lead entering the fourth quarter.
