LYCEUM coach Topex Robinson took the blame for the latest loss of the Pirates in the NCAA Season 91 men’s basketball tournament.

“As much as they played bad, it's my fault. You know, I wasn't able to prepare them to win so I should do a better job preparing this team to really play at a higher level,” Robinson said in the aftermath of the team’s 60-75 loss to Jose Rizal University on Friday.

It was the fourth loss in five outings for the Intramuros-based team.

“Well siguro lang hindi ko sila nalagay sa tamang position or sa tamang opportunity na dapat nandun sila so the reason again, I'll try to be a better coach to them.”

Robinson also reserved some nice words for Joseph Gabayni who topscored for the team with 15 points and seven rebounds.

“He will always try to win for us and what I appreciate about him is he doesn't quit so hopefully, he'll carry that kind of mentality,” said Robinson, also a deputy coach with the Alaska Aces.

“It's gonna be a long series and again, we're trying to grow, continue to grow and continue to learn from all of the experiences that we felt,” he said.
