JOSE Rizal University is within striking distance of the leaders, thanks to the heroics of Tey Teodoro.

The Heavy Bombers guard came up with 18 of his career-high 32 in a huge 90-87 come-from behind win over Mapua last week in NCAA Season 91.

That game earned Teodoro the NCAA Player of the week from writers covering the league.

Teodoro has been averaging 16 points a game for the Heavy Bombers, who hold a 5-3 win-loss mark in joint fourth with Arellano behind Letran, San Beda and Perpetual Help.

"I've told him he's the best player in this team," said Jose Rizal coach Vergel Meneses of Teodoro.

Teodoro thanks his coach and teammates for the trust.

"I wouldn't have done this without coach and the team," said Teodoro.

The JRU guard was named Accel Quantum/3XVI-NCAA Press Corps Player of the Week, beating San Beda's Nigerian import Ola Adeogun and Letran's Rey Nambatac.
