ROOKIE JJ Domingo led all scorers, while Jonathan Grey had a near triple double as College of St. Benilde clobbered Emilio Aguinaldo College, 81-57, on Friday in the NCAA Season 91 seniors basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Domingo scored 16 points, while Jonathan Grey had 12 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds as the Blazers scored only their third win in 12 outings.

Jeffrey Ongteco added 12 markers for the Blazers, who took an 11-point lead at the end of the first half and extended it to 34 in the final period, 65-31.

“Nagpapasalamat ako kay Lord sa strength na binigay niya sa amin,” said Domingo. “Mas mahirap ang ginagawa namin sa practice kaya sa game go hard kami.”

“It’s a learning process and ina-apply ko lang ang good things na sinasabi sa akin,” he added.

The Blazers had 44 rebounds, while the Generals grabbed 41. CSB had 24 assists against five by EAC.

“Today I’m very happy because we were able to do the things na pinlano namin,” said CSB coach Gabby Velasco.

“Defensively we executed our plan and offensively we still have room for improvement.”

The Blazers matched San Sebastian and Lyceum’s record, all three schools way behind in the race to the last four.

“We’re here to improve our game,” said Velasco. “We’re not discouraged because of the win-loss record we try hard to win.”

Francis Munsayac scored 15 points, while Christ Mejos added 11 for the Generals, who suffered  their 10th loss in 12 games.
