Mapua, Arellano beat separate foes to stay close behind NCAA juniors leader San Beda 

MAPUA and Arellano beat separate rivals on Friday to stay in second and third places, respectively, in the NCAA Season 91 juniors basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Swerwin Concepcion scored 33 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lift the Red Robins to an 85-63 win over Lyceum, while Guilmer de la Torre had 21 markers as the Braves beat San Sebastian, 99-72.

The Red Robins stayed in second place with a 12-1 win-loss slate, one game behind unbeaten San Beda (13-0). The Braves sit in third spot with a 10-4 slate, while the Junior Pirates hold a 9-5 record.

In the other game, Emilio Aguinaldo College downed Jose Rizal University, 93-69, to post its seventh win in 13 matches.

The Light Bombers slipped to 1-12.
