SAN Sebastian survived a late run by College of St. Benilde to score a 54-49 win on Sunday in the NCAA Season 92 seniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Stags wound up on top in a low-scoring encounter that saw them lead by as many as 15 points but also gave up 11 in the final four minutes of the game, handing Egay Macaraya his first NCAA win as head coach of San Sebastian.

"Learn from our mistakes," said Macaraya. "I guess the factor was the fatigue because a lot of my players ay hindi nag-step up. Hopefully, they could bounce back.”

Jerick Fabian led all scorers with 12 points for the Stags in a game where the teams had a combined 38-of-111 shooting.

The game ended in thrilling fashion with the Blazers able to cut the deficit to three points on a lay-up by JJ Domingo with 1:05 left in the fourth, but CSB failed to score on its next possessions.
