San Beda Red Cubs turn back LPU Junior Pirates for second straight win to start Season 93

SAN Beda defeated Lyceum, 78-73, on Friday night for its second straight win in the NCAA Season 93 juniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Evan Nelle had 15 points, while Sam Abu Hijle had 11 points and 18 rebounds for the Red Cubs to pick up their second win in as many outings.

Peter Alfaro finished with 11 markers and Luke Sese added nine as they buried crucial three-pointers midway in the fourth quarter to keep a safe distance over the Junior Pirates, who dropped to 1-1.

Overall, the Red Cubs shot 12-of-30 from threes as against the Junior Pirates' 4-of-12 clip.

McLaude Guadana had 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals for the Junior Pirates, who even took the lead halfway in the game, 32-27, after a 23-12 second period.
