SAN Beda completed a rare sweep of the eliminations with a 76-67 rout of Letran on Tuesday to gain outright entry into the finals of the NCAA Season 91 juniors basketball tournament.

Joshua Tagala finished with 14 points while John Lagumen added 13 for the Red Cubs, who won all 18 of their elimination round games.

The Red Cubs are eyeing their seventh straight crown armed with a thrice-to-beat advantage against the team which will emerge out of the stepladder playoffs.

“Our first goal is to make it to the finals. Now, we are going for our next goal which is to win the championship,” said coach JB Sison.

The San Beda mentor admitted being wary about the long break during the stepladder phase, so much so that he is looking at the possibility of playing tune-up games before the finals series.

The Red Cubs pulled away after outscoring the Squires, 28-13, in the third period.
