RHANZELLE Yong has transferred to Lyceum, and will play for its PBA D-League team Zark’s Burger in the Aspirants Cup.

Yong moved to the Pirates following a one-season stint with San Sebastian in the NCAA. He has underwent a one-year residency making him eligible to play for Season 94 in 2018.

Yong, who also played in the San Sebastian juniors squad along with current Stags cagers Michael Calisaan and Renzo Navarro, played in 2014 but sat out the following year, and suffered an ACL tear in May of 2016.

After sustaining the season-ending injury, Yong transferred to Lyceum where he reunited with his coach at San Sebastian in Topex Robinson.

The 22-year-old power forward is looking forward to suiting up for Zark’s in the Aspirants Cup as he has also recovered from an ACL injury.

“Excited ako kasi parang recovery ko na rin ‘yung D-League para sa NC,” said the 6-foot-2 Yong, nephew of Magnolia player and former San Sebastian center Ian Sangalang. “Excited na ako super sa NCAA.”

Before seeing action in the NCAA, Yong will play for the Jawbreakers, a team that is fresh from a finals appearance in Season 93 against San Beda.

“Maganda ‘yug team. Magandang opportunity itong D-League para sa akin. Experience din,” said Yong.

Yong is very pleased with Robinson's Pirates program.

“Maganda ‘yung family nila. One team talaga,” said Yong.
