Rhanzelle Yong comeback with SSC Stags cut short by ACL injury
Rhanzelle Yong had been impressive for the Stags in practice games.

RHANZELLE Yong will be sidelined for the coming NCAA Season 92 after suffering a tear in his ACL.

San Sebastian coach Egay Macaraya said Yong, nephew of current Star player and former Stag Ian Sangalang, sustained the injury last week in practice.

“Na-ACL si Yong sa practice kaya out for the season,” Yong said after San Sebastian's victory over College of Saint Benilde in the Filoil preseason tournament on Saturday.

A former Staglet, Yong joined the seniors squad in 2014 before sitting out the following year.

Macaraya said it was unfortunate for Yong to sustain the injury as he has been impressive in practices since Macaraya took over the coaching reins from Rodney Santos.

“’Yun ang sayang kasi sa practice games namin, Yong was very crucial sa rotation. Hindi siya nakalaro last year tapos na-ACL pa,” said Macaraya.
