TITLEHOLDER letran bounced back while sending Emilio Aguinaldo College crashing back to earth with a 76-72 win on Tuesday in the NCAA Season 92 basketball tournament at the San Juan Arena.

Rey Nambatac scored career-high 33 points, including back-to-back three-pointers in a crucial stretch in the payoff period where the Knights took a 70-62 spread.

The Generals refused to fold, using a 10-4 run to slice the deficit to two, 74-72.

EAC had the chance to tie the game after forcing Letran to commit a shot clock violation, but they, too, committed a turnover in the ensuing play that led to a John Calvo breakaway layup that sealed the win.

“It’s an ugly win, but a win is a win,” said Letran coach Jeff Napa.

John Quinto added 17 for Letran, which evened its win-loss record, 1-1, after an opening-day loss to San Beda.
