REY Nambatac admitted scoring his season high so far in his last run with Knights in front of Letran fans is an experience he will cherish before he enters the PBA.

The King Knight had a game to remember on Thursday as Nambatac erupted with 31 points and 11 rebounds in Letran's 92-78 win over College of Saint Benilde that broke the losing slide of home teams in the NCAA on Tour in Season 93.

The Letran combo guard was one of the key players in the Knights' championship run in 2015 but playing in front of the home crowd is another milestone in his collegiate career.

"Sobrang saya lalo na't last year ko na sa Letran," said Nambatac as he talked about the experience of playing an NCAA game at the Knights home gym. "Magandang opportunity dahil bago ako gumraduate, at least may dala akong experience na ganito kasaya."

As it is his final playing year with Letran this season, Nambatac said his next step is to apply in the coming PBA draft.

"Magpapa-draft na ako. Magbabakasakali," said Nambatac.

Before his season's best game, Nambatac, however, had to stave off a late CSB run as the Blazers were able to tie the game at 66 at the end of the third period. Prior to that, the Blazers were also on top, 21-14, after the first quarter.

Nambatac admitted the Knights were showboating in front of the home fans which led to the slow start.

"Siguro nag-stick lang ako sa sistema ni coach Jeff [Napa]. Slow start kasi nanibago kami sa home crowd. Gusto namin medyo magpasikat. Pero nung nag-stick kami sa sistema ni coach, doon na kami umarangkada," said Nambatac.

Nambatac also said having his teammates involved also helped him in putting up a great performance for the Letran fans. He also finished with five assists and two steals in the contest.

"Siguro dahil na rin sa teammates ko na willing mag-step up. Every time na pinapasahan ko sila, 60-40 nako-convert nila," said Nambatac.
