PERPETUAL Help faces Mapua on short rest as two of the top teams in NCAA Season 92 clash on Thursday at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.

The Altas go up against the Cardinals at 4 p.m. looking to cement second place at the end of the first round.

However, the Las Pinas-based cagers, who share second place with Arellano with a 6-2 win-loss slate, will only have a one-day rest following their win over Emilio Aguinaldo College, 70-53, on Tuesday.

“They are a good team,” said Perpetual Help import Bright Akhuetie. “Too bad we don’t have much time to prepare. But it’s okay. We have to adjust.”

Akhuetie dominated against EAC, tallying 19 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocks as he continued his good form following a knee injury that bothered him the start of the season.

“Sana tuluy-tuloy ang pag-improve ng condition niya,” said Perpetual Help coach Jimwell Gican.

The Cardinals, who lost to San Beda, 85-74, last week, are looking to improve on their 5-2 win-loss record to regain track in the race for second place.

In the first game, Emilio Aguinaldo College faces winless CSB at 2 p.m.

The Generals look to bounce back from their loss to Perpetual Help that saw them shoot a miserable 22.5 percent from the field, a season low.

The Blazers are winless in eight games.
