OLA Adeogun is calling on the San Beda community most especially the students, to support and watch the NCAA games more often as the Red Lions bid for their sixth straight men’s basketball title.

The appeal was made by the San Beda big man as he noticed most of the time, supporters of the school had been outnumbered by their rivals during games at The Arena in San Juan.

The Nigerian center specifically mentioned fans of University of Perpetual Help System Dalta, who despite being based in Southern Metro Manila, has always come in full force in every Altas’ games.

“Kami ‘yung mas malapit dito. Pero ‘yung Perpetual, Las Piñas pa,” said Adeogun on Friday following the Red Lions’ win over the San Sebastian Stags.

Adeogun believes San Beda fans may have just been waiting for the Lions to reach the finals as the school had won the NCAA crown for half a decade now.

“Maybe they thought we will be in the finals, they are just waiting for the championship game,” said Adeogun.

So far, the Red Lions are on pace for another berth in the championship round as they sport a 7-1 win-loss record before ending their first round campaign on Tuesday with a game against Arellano.

San Beda's only defeat came at the expense of Letran, which has an 8-1 record halfway into the elimination round.

Still, Adeogun reiterated the importance of having the team’s 'sixth man' as he hopes San Beda management will also help encourage students to watch the games.

“I’m using this opportunity to call on them (students) and even the school management to do something about this,” he added.

“They (the students) don’t have incentives to watch the game. I’m using this opportunity na sana pagbigyan sila kahit ‘yung mga first year lang,” said Adeogun
