COLLEGE of St. Benilde continues its rebuilding process following the departure of main man Jonathan Grey as the Blazers bank on the development of their new leaders for NCAA Season 92.

Benilde coach Gabby Velasco specifically mentions Nigerian Clement Lentcheu and Fil-Am Yankee Haruna as two of the men who will be at the forefront of their campaign this year when the Blazers seek to improve on their eighth place finish a season ago..

"They will play an important role in our campaign this season," said St. Benilde coach Gabby Velasco referring to the 6-foot-7 Lentcheu and the high-leaping Haruna.

The arrival of Lentcheu and Haruna has made the Blazers more defensive-minded in the preseason but their offense hit a snag without the high-scoring Grey, who played his fifth and final year in Season 91. This prompted Benilde to re-insert veteran Pons Saavedra into the lineup in the last-minute to inject some firepower to the team.

Saavedra, a solid defender and proven outside shooter, should also provide leadership to a young core that includes JJ Domingo, Edward Dixon, Christian Fajarito, Gerard Castor, Rene Sta. Maria and Carlo Young.

"He will be the leader of this team because of his experience," said Velasco of Saavedra.
