THE management committee of the NCAA has requested coveror TV5 and Sports5 to take down all videos of the bench-clearing brawl that marred the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals' against the Mapua Cardinals on Monday evening.

Footages of the free-for-all imediately went viral on social networking sites shortly after the Generals' 86-77 win - a black eye to a 90-year-old league that has faded in popularity over the years.

Now the NCAA mancom wants all footages removed from the video-sharing site YouTube, the source said, and has requested TV5 not to give other networks permission to air footages of the brawl.

“Hindi nila ini-explain kung bakit eh. Pero 'yung TV5, sinabihan at pinakiusapan na raw na huwag nang ilabas o ibigay sa ibang network yung kopya,” said the source.

“Lahat ng YouTube videos na kumalat, pati yung link na ginamit nung ibang network sa mga news nila, pinabakbak ng NCAA mancom,” he said.

“Wag daw muna bigyan ng consent at courtesy yung mga networks,” said the source.

The brawl is expected to lead to suspensions to players and referees but likewise showed shortcomings on the part of the league, which clearly lacked a contingency plan to handle such incidents.

NCAA commissioner Bai Cristobal has already given his recommendations to the board where several suspensions are set to be meted out.
