A BRAWL nearly erupted between rival fans at courtside area near the end of Game One of the San Beda-Letran finals in NCAA Season 91 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Witnesses said a man, apparently a San Beda fan and standing at the VIP courtside area, earned the ire of rival fans when he tried to distract Letran veteran Kevin Racal while he was inbounding the ball late in the Knights’ 94-90 win over the Red Lions on Friday night.

The San Beda fan, witnesses said, was even hit in the head by one Letran fan but security personnel and cooler heads stepped in in time to prevent a full-scale brawl.

Witnesses said no punches were thrown in the commotion.
