REY Nambatac is returning to Letran to play his final year in the NCAA, determined to help lead the Knights back to the top after missing the semifinals in Season 92.

"Masakit pero kailangang positive lang. Ang plano ko sana, kung naka-isa pa akong championship ngayon, balak ko nang magpa-draft," said Nambatac.

An even 9-9 win-loss record was not enough for the Knights to return to the Final Four.

"Lalaruin ko na final year ko. Decided na ako kasi ilang months ko na ring pinag-isipan. Hindi na magbabago isip ko," said the Knights' top gun.

"Siguro hindi para sa amin ang season na ito. So may nakalaan na mas magandang plano para sa team namin, hopefully next year."

The Knights will be without Jom Sollano, Mcjour Luib, Felix Apreku, and Chrisantoni Dela Pena next season, but Nambatac will still have a solid squad featuring Bong Quinto, former Batag Gilas Jerrick Balanza and JP Calvo.

"Siguro yung positive na nakuha sa season na ito is yung chemistry. Intact yung team namin, walang nagbago, walang iwanan," he said.

"Para sa akin, yun ang masasabi ko na yun ang isang letranista. lalo na noong nag four straight loss ata kami or five straight loss, walang nagbago sa team namin, mino-motivate pa rin namin ang isa't isa. yun ang magandang bagay na dadalhin namin for next year."

This early, Nambatac already feels the weight he has to carry and the pressure mounting, but he is ready for the challenge.

"Yun nga, ngayon pa lang kahit malayo pa, medyo ramdam ko na yung malaking pressure para sa akin next year," he bared.

"Siguro pa-practisin ko pa yung weakness ko, kung paano ko ma-counter yung depensa sa akin kasi I'm sure next year ganun pa rin yung gagawin sa akin, talagang hihigpitan yung depensa sa akin. So I'm sure next season, well-prepared na ako."
