LYCEUM looks set to have a big boost in the second round as coach Topex Robinson confirmed that Joseph Gabayni has been cleared by doctors and has begun practicing with the team on Tuesday.

Gabayni has not suited up for the Pirates since the start of NCAA Season 92 after figuring in a motorcycle accident that led to head injuries. But Robinson said they already received a clearance that allowed Gabayni to attend to practice and on track to return for the next round of eliminations.

“He got clearance already. He practiced earlier with the Team B,” said Robinson.

Robinson, however, will not rush the Lyceum big man's comeback as they are willing to wait for Gabayni to fully recover.

“Ang concern namin is his health. We'd rather have him later than have him half-baked. So, hopefullly, by second round, he will be okay,” said Robinson.

Gabayni’s absence is hardly felth, though, with the emergence of another Lyceum big man Mike Nzeusseu, who had 26 points and 24 rebounds in the Pirates’ 83-79 win over San Sebastian.

But Robinson is not concerned that Gabayni's return could disrupt his big man rotation.

“It’s a good problem to have. I guess kumbaga ‘yung minutes ni Mike has been big. Maybe it’s a good addition to have Gabayni spare the minutes between the two,” said Robinson.
