JOSEPH Gabayni has transferred from Lyceum to Arellano, Chiefs head coach Jerry Codinera confirmed on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old Gabayni, also seeing action for PBA D-League squad Racal Ceramica coached by Codinera, will take a one-year residency at Arellano before being able to play for teh Chiefs in the NCAA.

Gabayni spent three seasons with the Pirates, but never got his game going last year after he was involved in a motorcycle accident in the preseason of 2016. He posted paltry numbers of 2.9 points and 3.2 rebounds in 10 games.

Codinera, however, expects Gabayni to be a major contributor in Season 94 in 2018 and Season 95 in 2019 where he is still eligible.

Gabayni will step in for Arellano big man Lervin Flores, who is set to play his final season with the Chiefs in 2017.

“He is a blue chip center. Mature na siya maglaro,” said Codinera.
