JOSE Rizal University notched its first back to back wins in NCAA Season 93, clobbering College of St. Benilde, 81-53, to cap the triple header on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Center.

Ervin Grospe continued his inspired play for the Heavy Bombers, scoring 14 points and making five assists in a game where they led from start to finish.

Defense was once again the name of the game for the wards of coach Vergel Meneses as they limited the Blazers to just seven points in the second quarter to break the game wide open after a tight first period.

JRU didn't show any signs of letting up as they padded the lead to as many as 31 early in the fourth.

"Sa wakas naka-back to back din. Basically this is the same as our game against EAC. Same intensity and good decision making from our players," said Meneses.

"Consistency lang. Pag meron silang energy and hustle, it will be easier for them to score," he added.

Aside from Grospe, three other players notched double digits for the Heavy Bombers led by Tey Teodoro who scored 13 points in just nearly 11 minutes of play.

Jed Mendoza added 12 as Abdul Sawat finished with 10. Gio Lasquety did everything except score as he grabbed seven rebounds, dished out seven assists and had four steals for the Heavy Bombers who improved to 4-3 for the season.
