EMILIO Aguinaldo College's biggest fear came true on Thursday as its star big man is Hamadou Laminou has been ruled out for the season with an ACL tear in his right knee.

The Generals are now seeking a second opinion after MRI tests confirmed the ligament tear.

"He's out of the season because of ACL. I dont know what to say right now. I'm just so down thinking that Laminou is out for the season," said EAC head coach Ariel Sison.

The 6-foot-8 Cameroonian was taken out limping early in their game against Arellano on Tuesday.

Laminou, who also injured his left knee in the preseason, was averaging 10.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocks through five games.

Sison will now be exploring small ball, possibly putting forward Sidney Onwubere at the five position while giving more minutes to back-up bigman Jeric Diego.

"I thought it's just another minor injury. We have other bigs to step up but Laminou is Laminou," Sison continued.

"Iba pa din if he's in the bench ready to play."
