FORMER Letran coach Aldin Ayo remains confidentthe Knights will be able to get out of their slump in the NCAA Season 92.

Ayo on Thursday attended a Letran game for the first time since accepting the coaching job at La Salle last December, only to see his former team squander a 12-point lead and bow to Lyceum, 68-66, on a game-winner by MJ Ayaay.

The Knights have now lost three games in a row to fall to a 5-5 win-loss slate and a share of fifth place with Jose Rizal University, but Ayo is not giving up on his former team.

“Kaya pa yan,” said Ayo in a brief interview after the game. “Hindi naman bibigay ang mga ‘yan. Lalaban at lalaban sila."

"Siguro ‘yung endgame lang,” he added when asked what went wrong for the Knights.

The La Salle coach briefly chatted with his former players as he waited outside the Filoil Flying V Centre after the match.

Ayo later rued that the calls didn’t go Letran’s way especially in the endgame.

“Lalaban at lalaban sila. Siguro ‘wag lang ganun ang tawagan,” Ayo added, without elaborating.
