CLINT Doliguez rose to the occasion, scoring a career-high 22 points as San Beda beat Jose Rizal University, 54-48, on Friday in the NCAA Season 93 seniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Doliguez showed the way following the struggles of San Beda's top man Robert Bolick due to sickness, finishing with an 8-of-10 clip from the field including four triples.

With the victory, San Beda improved its record to 5-1 while sending JRU to its third loss in five matches.

Doliguez practically sealed the win after nailing a triple that gave San Beda a 51-45 lead with two minutes left in the game.

Aside from Bolick, also in sick bay for the Red Lions were Ben Adamos, Calvin Oftana, and John Bahio—who were all hospitalized due to diarrhea.

Bolick opted to play but finished with six points on 2-of-10 from the field. He also had six rebounds and five assists.

The Red Lions struggled in the game as they only scored four points in the third quarter as the Heavy Bombers opened the second half with a 16-3 burst to keep the game close.

"We missed so many free throws. We were murdered in the rebounding. But still we won the game probably because of our defense," said San Beda coach Boyet Fernandez.

Aaron Bordon finished with 13 points, while Jed Mendoza and Ervin Grospe had 12 and 10 points each. Teytey Teodoro, however, struggled in the game as he shot just 2-of-16 from the field to end up with five markers.
