'Heavily recruited' Bong Quinto, JP Calvo staying put with Knights, say Letran officials
Despite heavy interest from another team, Bong Quinto and JP Calvo have chosen to stay with Letran, according to athletic director Fr. Vic Calvo. 

BONG Quinto and JP Calvo won't be sitting out the upcoming season as both players have been confirmed to suit up for Letran in NCAA Season 93, which opens on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Quinto and Calvo, who sources said had decided to sit out the coming season. showed up during the school's pep rally at the Letran campus, their names even called last by the master of ceremonies.

Letran athletic director Fr. Vic Calvo later confirmed to SPIN.ph the two will indeed play for the Knights in Season 93.

"They were heavily-recruited but they chose to stay with Letran and play in the NCAA rather in the UAAP," said Calvo, without elaborating.

Letran coach Jeff Napa declined to be interviewed but he held back his emotions when he was asked to speak in front of the school community during the pep rally.

"Masaya ako at kumpleto na uli" said Napa.

Letran officials declined to reveal the identity of the school that was recruiting Quinto and Calvo but sources said La Salle was interested in obtaining the services of the two players.
