BASER Amer has won NCAA titles in each of the four years he has been with San Beda.

It is uncertain if he would go for a fifth.

The Red Lions’ star playmaker from Davao is tight-lipped on plans of playing a fifth and final season in the NCAA after the squad annexed a fifth straight NCAA championship.

Amer is seeing action for new team Hapee in the D-League and can move to the pros through the draft next year.

“Hindi ko pa talaga alam,” Amer said in a chat with in the championship dugout. “As of now, i-enjoy muna namin itong five-peat.”

Asked what factors he is considering on a possible return, the pride of Davao just smiled and did not give a straight answer.

“Basta enjoy muna ito,” he said.

Amer is savoring the Lions’ latest feat that matched the San Sebastian run of five successive championships from 1993 to 1997.

“Malaking gift ito sa amin,” he said. "Hindi namin makakalimutan.”

“Sabi ko sa kanila stay humble pa rin kahit nakuha namin ’to,” added Amer, who bucked cramps to run the Lions’ offense with aplomb, scattering 13 assists on top of four points and four rebounds.

“Nilaro ko pa rin. Kailangan eh,” he said. “At kinausap ko rin yung other guards namin at nag-step up naman sila.”
