Codinera not worried about Chiefs losing momentum during NCAA break with two tuneup games in two weeks
Coach Jerry Codinera believes unbeaten Arellano can stay sharp even without competitive matches in two weeks.

ARELLANO is scheduled to meet one PBA team and one college squad during the NCAA Season 92 break for the Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament this month.

The Chiefs’ 99-81 win over San Sebastian on Friday was their last game before the league takes a respite for the Fiba OQT Philippines which will run from July 5 to 10 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Arellano coach Jerry Codinera said the Chiefs have two tune-up games set during the two-week break before returning to action on July 14 against Letran.

“We have two scrimmages, isang professional team tapos isang college team,” said Codinera, without revealing the identity of the teams.

The Chiefs went into the break with a 2-0 win-loss slate, sharing top spot with San Beda and Mapua.

Codinera said he is not worried about losing momentum to their hot start to the season.

“That’s good enough para maka-rest din sila and to be hungry again. Maybe we can use it also kasi baka may mga injuries, makapahinga para ganado uli,” said Codinera.
