Two-time NCAA MVP Allwell Oraeme on Tuesday confirmed that he has left the Mapua Cardinals, saying he is in the process of searching for motivation to play once again.

Shortly after news broke out about the Nigerian’s departure from Mapua, the powerhouse forward talked to SPIN.ph and admitted that he was no longer happy with the team.

Oraeme also claimed that Mapua’s camp already knew of his disenchantment even before he stopped attending the Cardinals’ practices.

“Right now, I just want to get my motivation back. I was not happy at the team and they know it,” said the 6-foot-10 center who has helped put the Cardinals back among the NCAA’s elite.

When pressed about his disenchantment with the Cardinals, Oraeme declined to respond and curtly said, "I don't want any controversy."

Although he has no short-term plans, Oraeme said that going back home to Nigeria just might be what the doctor ordered.

“Maybe seeing my family will help,” he said.

With this development have come whispers that Oraeme is being lured by different schools. But Oraeme quickly shot down such insinuations and assured that if it would come to that, he would make sure to go through the correct process.

“I havent been in contact with any school,” Oraeme emphatically said.

“I also told the athletic director that I have not been in contact with any school and if I happen to be, I will let Mapua know and everything will be done the right way.”

Although Oraeme and Mapua are likely to part ways, the big man refused to discount a return to the school that helped him make a name in the country.

“I love Mapua. Anything is possible.”
