FOR Larry Muyang, he would like to believe that he has finally found a home in Letran.
“Para sa akin, nahahanap ko na dito,” he proudly said, showing what he’s made of for the Knights this NCAA Season 94.
And Muyang has no one else to thank for but coach Jeff Napa.
Muyang, who had an uneventful one-season run with La Salle before going back to Pampanga, has found the perfect match with Napa, a mentor who has a long track record of developing his frontcourt to serviceable big men.
And so far, the results have been showing, with Muyang having his best game to date in Letran’s 74-58 win over JRU on Friday, logging 14 points, nine rebounds, and three assists in the win.
Muyang has formed a potent frontcourt tandem with fellow transferee Christian Fajarito, giving Napa a solid frontline for the first time in his reign in the Knights – something which he always had in his glory run in the juniors’ division.
“Syempre mahirap maglaro na donut yung team mo eh. Ever since naman, kahit nung naglalaro ako, mahirap maglaro na wala kang kasamang big man.
But as happy as Napa is with Muyang’s improvement, he doesn’t want the 6-foot-5 banger to be satisfied just yet, knowing that the truly great players are measured on how bad they want their games to further their game.
