TOPEX Robinson quickly took the blame as Lyceum absorbed its first loss in the most inopportune time, 94-87, in Game One of the NCAA Season 93 Finals to San Beda on Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Though he didn't delve into details, Robinson said that he made some bad decisions particularly in the second half where the Red Lions took control of the game after trailing by as much as 12 before the break.

"Just like what I told them, it’s my fault, I made some bad decisions, bad coaching. I’ll try to lead them better come Game 2," said Robinson.

"My players played well, they really played well. I’m sorry it’s my fault. I’ll be a better coach next game," he added.

Robinson also tipped his hat to San Beda for being the better team overall but the 37-year-old mentor said that he's not gonna lose sleep over it.

They have already proven that they can be dominant by sweeping the elimination round, now it's all about showing that they have character by bouncing back.

"San Beda was really a great team this afternoon. We really lost to a better team," Robinson continued.

"Just like what I always tell these guys, it’s not gonna define us just because of the loss. I mean, what’s going to define us as a team is how we’re going to bounce back."

With roughly a week to prepare, Robinson is optimistic that they can bounce back and salvage what was a historic season so far.

They came in here together and they'll get out of here together, win or lose.

"I told them to, kumbaga, lick your wounds and at the end of the day, buhay kami lahat. What’s important kumbaga wala namang namatay samin that means life goes on for us. This is life for us," said Robinson.

"Again, San Beda is the better team this afternoon and credit to coach Boyet and how they really prepared for us."
