EMILIO Aguinaldo College overwhelmed College of Saint Benilde, 74-64, to send a strong message in its NCAA Season 93 debut on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
Hamadou Laminou finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks for the Generals in an auspicious start to their campaign this season.
CSB, which won on its first game after their match against Perpetual Help was forfeited in its favor, fell to 1-1.
EAC coach Ariel Sison lauded the play of Laminou, who missed games in the preseason due to an MCL tear.
"I'm so thankful that they responded well," said Sison. "If Laminou just played (more games in the preseason), mas maganda standing namin."
Sidney Onwubere was also a key contributor for EAC as he had 11 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Generals, who led by as many as 24 points in the match.
EAC played six days following the opening ceremony on Saturday, giving the Generals ample time to prepare against CSB.
"We had two weeks to prepare against CSB," said Sison.
No one scored in double figures for the Blazers as Clement Leutcheu led the team with nine points and eight rebounds.
