WITH its season on the line, San Sebastian flashed its lethal form as the Stags halted their three-game slide with a 97-70 rout over Mapua in the NCAA Season 93 on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Center.

Needing a win to stay in contention for the Final Four, the Stags opened fire early behind Alfren Gayosa and Jayson David as they opened with an 11-point lead in the first quarter with a 31-point output in the opening frame.

The Cardinals never really had a chance as the boys of coach Egay Macaraya continued to push the tempo after finding contributions from almost everyone, including JM Calma and Alvin Capobres.

They'll be a restless spectator in the Letran and San Beda match which is still being played as of writing time as they chase the fourth running Knights with an 8-8 record.

"This game is all about team effort, we had 21 assists, we had good looks in the three points. Thirty six percent malaki samin yan," said San Sebastian head coach Egay Macaraya.

"At the start ng second round, ang goal namin is winning more games every day. So now, the last game is the deciding factor. Hopefully everybody will play like this," he added.

David finished with a game-high 24 points on 11-of-16 shooting. Gayosa fired in 11 of his 18 points in the first quarter to set the pace for the Stags while Capobres added 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
