COLLEGE of St. Benilde snapped out of a two-game losing skid in NCAA Season 94 by dominating Emilio Aguinaldo College 84-71 on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Arena.

JJ Domingo had his best game of the season as he finished with 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists for the Blazers, who improved to 3-4.

With Domingo at the helm, the Blazers went on a 13-0 run to take a 41-26 halftime lead that the Generals never came close to overhauling.

“Coming off this win, I hope we get some momentum going for our confidence level. It's going to be very important when we face Arellano and Perpetual to close out the first round. We really need to get those wins to at least be in the middle of the pack,” said CSB coach TY Tang who gave Domingo some high praise.

“We've been patiently waiting for this day to come. Finally, he got his confidence back. We are hoping that this will be the start of his breakout games,” he added.

Yankie Haruna added 11 points for the Blazers as Justin Gutang and Clement Leutcheu added nine points apiece.

Leutcheu, however, faces suspension for their next game after being ejected for getting his second technical foul in the 5:38 mark of the fourth following an altercation with Juju Bautista.

The Blazers got badly beaten on the boards 60-31 but more than made up for it on the defensive end as they forced the Generals to 30 turnovers resulting in 24 points off errors.

Bautista paced the Generals with 17 points and 12 rebounds but that went for naught as they saw their two-game streak snapped to drop to 2-5.

The scores:

CSB 84 – Domingo 22, Haruna 11, Leutcheu 9, Gutang 9, Naboa 6, Dixon 6, Nayve 5, Begica 4, Pasturan 4, Young 3, Velasco 2, Barnes 2.

EAC 71 – Bautista 17, Laminou 13, Tampoc 10, Garcia 9, Diego 5, Mendoza 5, Bugarin 5, Maguliano 4, Gonzales 2, Cadua 1, Natividad 0, Robin 0, Neri 0.
